First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the artist. Original white cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the boards slightly bowed and lightly marked. The contents, with some faint spotting and foxing early and late, are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased original dustwrapper which has been clipped and repriced by the publisher.

Inscribed by Beryl Cook in blue ink on the front free endpaper "To Jonathan / with my best wishes / Beryl".
