An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean throughout. Small bookplate of Robert Grabhorn to the front pastedown. Complete with the fine price-clipped dustwrapper. Scarce.

Inscribed by the author in black ink on the front free endpaper "For Jane and Bob Grabhorn - / Since the publisher couldn't sell [underlined] / the damned things, I am forced to / get them into circulation one way / or another (even if occasionally I am / presumptuous). / Sincerely, / Bob Bell". The recipient Robert Grabhorn, who along with his brother Edwin founded The Grabhorn Press was one of the most influential printers on the San Francisco scene. His wife Jane also a talented typographer, bookbinder and printer worked at The Grabhorn Press and set up The Colt Press.
