First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the artist. Original red cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board, in dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth clean. The contents, with some faint spotting and foxing early and late, are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased original dustwrapper which is slightly faded to the spine. Not price clipped (£5.95 to the front flap).

Inscribed by Beryl Cook in blue ink on the front free endpaper "To Jonathan / with my best wishes / Beryl".
