Publisher's original black cloth with silver titles to the spine, in illustrated dustwrapper featuring Lowry's 'City Scene' to the front panel. 265 illustrations, with 205 in full colour. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, with a little bumping to the spine ends, the contents clean throughout and free from inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly creased dustwrapper, that remains without fading loss or tears.

Signed by the British publisher and critic "To David / Great writer and good friend, it's time / I signed / a book / for / you / Tom Rosenthal". The recipient is twice Booker shortlisted author and critic David Lodge. Rosenthal was head of Secker & Warburg from 1971 to 1984 publishing several of Lodge's critically acclaimed novels including 'The Campus Trilogy'.
