THE FOURTH PROTOCOL

The author's retained proof of the first edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original yellow paper covers printed in black, black cloth binding tape spine. 448 pages, the prelims in double column, all after page 11 in single column. 29.7 x 21cm. A good copy, the binding firm but worn and marked, the upper cover with a couple of tears with associated creasing. The contents, with a coffee? stain to the upper and lower corners of the early pages, otherwise clean throughout. A working document.

Produced by Input Typesetting Ltd, London strictly for in house use, preceding the bound proof distributed by the publisher. This item forms part of a collection of the author's own proofs, manuscripts and film scripts, gifted to and inscribed for a close friend in 2017. A cold war thriller. The basis for 1987 John MacKenzie directed film of the same name starring Michael Caine and Pierce Brosnan. Provenance: Frederick Forsyth; gifted to Sally Harrison (2017).
