THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. (Sequel to Frankenstein)

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original green cloth grained paper boards with gilt publisher's logo to the upper board and titles in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh with a little dulling to the gilt on the spine. The contents, heavily toned as always due to the poor quality paper used in production are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and dusty dustwrapper that has several small chips and tears along the edges. The fabulous artwork of Boris Karloff and Elsa Lanchester to the front panel remains complete and the lettering on the spine without fading. An uncommonly decent example, in entirely original condition of a poorly produced book.

A science-fiction horror story based on the film 'The Bride of Frankenstein', itself a sequel to the Boris Karlof 'Frankenstein'. The book was issued simultaneously with an edition published by 'The Queensway Press', although this Reader's Library issue includes a two page editor's note about the film and Egremont's novelisation not present in the former. (Bleiler; Locke: Spectrum of Fantasy).
