First edition, first printing. Signed by the author and the actor Robin Ellis. Original burgundy paper covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding firm with very light bumping and some faint vertical creases to the spine. The lower board with a small indentation. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the very lightly rubbed, nicked and creased, price-clipped dustwrapper that is a touch faded to the spine.

Signed by Winston Graham and Robin Ellis, the actor who played Ross Poldark in the 1970s television adaptation of the Poldark series, in black ink on the title page. The fifth Poldark novel and the first following an 18 year hiatus after the publication of the fourth book, 'Warleggan', in 1953. Graham's Poldark series has inspired two successful BBC television adaptations, the first aired between 1975 and 1977 and starred Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees, the second aired between 2015 and 2019 and starred Aiden Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson.
