SAD CYPRESS

First American edition of this Hercule Poirot novel. Publisher's original light blue cloth with dark blue titles to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth a little toned to the edges with a small hole to the upper hinge and minor fraying at the spine tips. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with a spectacular fine example of the first state dustwrapper that has a faint vertical crease to the spine and is otherwise as bright, crisp and fresh as the day it was published. Not price-clipped ($2.00 to the upper front flap).

First published in the UK by Collins in The Crime Club in March 1940, the American edition followed shortly after (in the same year).
