First edition, second impression. Original textured blue paper-covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, lightly rubbed and with a small bump to the top edge of the boards, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with a neat gift inscription to the front free endpaper and a small bookseller's label to the front pastedown, are otherwise clean and bright throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a few tiny chips and short closed tears at the spine tips and corners and some fading of the spine. Not price-clipped (7/6 on the front flap). Scarce.
Both the first and second impression were issued in September 1935, the dustwrapper is identical on both. 'Regency Buck', a combination of romance and mystery about a northern heiress who moves to London with her brother to join high society, was the first of many Heyer novels to be set in the Regency period.
