Author's own, early proof of the first edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Plain orange card covers with blue cloth spine. 29.8 x 21.5cm. A very good copy, the binding sound, some pages towards the rear a little wavy. This is strictly an in-house document produced prior to the issue of the bound and trimmed publisher's proof sent out in advance of publication. Rare, possibly unique in this form.

Inscribed by the author in black ink on the front blank "Original publisher's proof of 1975 / Frederick Forsyth 2017". This item forms part of a collection of the author's own proofs, manuscripts and film scripts, gifted to and inscribed for a close friend in 2017. Forsyth's inscription, in this case, is misstated as whilst the story 'No Comebacks' was written in the early 1970s, this collection of ten short stories was not published until 1982.
