First edition. Signed limited edition. Inscribed by the artist. Publisher's grey paper covered board portfolio containing loose leaves, in slipcase, as issued. Text in French and English. Printed on Vélin de Rives paper. With 6 etched plates by Joe Downing, each signed in pencil. Letter press verse on coloured handmade paper. A lovely near fine copy, the portfolio hinges with a little splitting, as usual, but holding firm. The contents are entirely complete and in fine condition throughout. The slipcase remains sound with a little wear and toning to the extremities.

Inscribed by Joe Downing in pencil to the top left corner of the limitation page "Pour Bernard - / Bien amicalement / Joe". Also signed by Downing in pencil at the bottom left, as called for. Limited to 125 copies of which this is hand numbered 79. An attractive artist's book from the American born Paris domiciled Joe Downing, one of only three Americans to have exhibited in the Louvre. Provenance: from the library of Martin Stone.
