TROUT'S TESTAMENT

First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original navy marble-effect paper-covered boards with titles in white to the spine and upper board, in the Hans Tisdall illustrated dustwrapper. Top edge red. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the head of the spine a little bumped, the extremities slightly rubbed, with a few tiny marks to the paper. The contents, with a few faint spots to the text block edges and a small pen mark to the front free endpaper, are otherwise clean and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked brightly illustrated original dustwrapper which has a tiny hole to the rear flap fold and is slightly faded to the spine. Not price clipped (15s to the front flap). A scarce title, even more so in signed state.

Signed by Ronald Fraser in blue ink on the half title. The third title in the author's 'Venus Quartet', a quirky a science fiction story in which war veteran Sir Brian Hungerford and his aristocratic friends liaise with strange beings from around the solar system, narrated by Hungerford's butler Troutbeck. (Locke, A Spectrum of Fantasy).
