First edition, first printing. Signed by the artist. Original blue cloth with a grey cloth spine, a gilt-lettered title label to the spine and a gilt boat motif to the upper board. Illustrated throughout with lino-cuts in blue by Rosemary Roberts. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth lightly toned at the top edge and fore-edge of the upper board and with a stain to the lower board. The contents are clean and bright throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions.

Issued in a limited edition of 125, this example is numbered 25 and signed by Rosemary Roberts, the artist, printer and publisher, in pencil on the limitation page. Comprising three short stories about the sea and sea-folk by George Mackay Brown, 'Sea Women', 'Love Story' and 'Spinter', the latter two of which are published here for the first time.
