KORKY THE CAT

A sheet of original comic artwork featuring the Dandy Comic character Korky the Cat. Pencil, pen and ink on Winsor and Newton Bristol Board, measuring 45 x 57cm. Inscribed in pencil "Korky on Rings" with further pencilled annotations and production instructions to the outer margins. In a glazed, light-oak frame, measuring 55 x 75cm. In very good condition, the paper a little toned, marked and creased at the edges, the illustrations crisp and clean.

A fantastic composition of original illustrations featuring Korky engaged in various, mostly sporting endeavours. Whilst it is clear from the pencilled notes and reproduction instructions in the margins that the illustrations made it to print, we have thus far been unable to identify the publication or exact date. The format would lend itself to an endpaper design.
