First trade edition, first printing. Signed by the author. The dedication copy. Publisher's original green cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the dustwrapper illustrated with a photograph by Eugene Ankenny. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with a bump at the base of the spine and bottom edge of the upper board, the cloth and gilt bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owner's marks. The for-edge of the closed text block ever so faintly spotted. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is a touch faded to the spine.
