First edition in this form. Signed by the author. Original black cloth with silver titles to the upper board. Silver endpapers. Black satin ribbon marker. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth with a couple of small, faint marks. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. A lovely copy.

Issued in a limited edition of 160 copies, this example is numbered 154 and signed by J. M. Coetzee in black ink on the title page. 26 copies bound in full leather were also issued. A special edition of 'The Vietnam Project', a novella that forms the first chapter of Coetzee's debut novel 'Dusklands'. Issued by the Oak Tree Press, a private press that donates its profits to organisations assisting children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
