BIG PIG. A Novel.

First edition, first printing. Signed and inscribed by the author. Publisher's original pictorial laminated wrappers. Publisher's compliments slip loosely laid in. A very good copy, the binding square and tight with a little wear to the fore-edge of the covers. The contents are clean and crisp throughout.

Signed and inscribed by Andrew Tyler in black ink on the title page "To Jon / Hope it engages you, / with all good wishes / Andrew". The first novel by the English animal rights activist and journalist Andrew Tyler (1946-2017), following the attempts of a pig to rebel against his human oppressors, in the process exposing the cruelties of modern farming and the brutalisation of those involved. Tyler served as the director of Animal Aid, and as a journalist wrote for Drapers & Fashion Weekly, Time Out, The Guardian, The Independent, and NME (for whom he interviewed several famous musicians including Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Ray Davies, Leonard Cohen, and John Lennon). The recipient of the present copy was Jon Wynne-Tyson (1924-2020), the publisher and activist for animal rights and vegetarianism.
