Issued in a limited edition of 99 numbered copies. This example is marked 'file copy' in blue ink on the limitation page. An attractively produced volume, reprinting the text of the 1923, privately printed first edition, which was issued in an edition of just 20 copies. David Johnson's illustration is unique to this publication. The author, Edward Heron-Allen (1861-1943) was a British scientist and polymath whose writings range from hard sciences to the occult.
