Publisher's original yellow cloth with gilt titles to the upper board, in author illustrated dustwrapper. Tennant's drawings and handwriting are illustrated in facsimile throughout. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth just a little darkened at the head of the spine, is otherwise bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' marks. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a few tiny closed tears and some toning to the spine and panel edges. An attractive example, uncommon in this deluxe issue.

Issued in a limited edition of 125 copies printed on vellum paper, this example is numbered 11 and signed by Stephen Tennant in black ink. A deliberately camp and extravagantly illustrated fantasy that takes the form of the diary of the fictional Reverend Felix Littlejohn, a missionary travelling through an imagined tropical landscape. The book is dedicated to E. M. Forster, an early champion of Tennant, the quintessential "Bright Young Thing" of whom Cecil Beaton famously remarked, "He makes the rest of the world seem squalid". Although the title page is dated 1929, publication was delayed until 1937.
