First edition, first printing. Publisher's original first state navy blue cloth with red titles to the spine, in the David Kyle illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with some bumping to the spine tips, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, toned to the text block, are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very good, rubbed and nicked, first state dustwrapper that has small chips to the fold corners and some toning to the flap edges. Not price-clipped ($2.75 to the upper front flap). Originally published as a series of short stories and novellas in Astounding Magazine between 1942 and 1950, this is the first edition in book form.
