First edition, first printing. Publisher's original blue cloth, with titles in blind to the upper board and in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. With 45 black and white line drawnings throughout. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh with some rubbing to the spine tips and extremities. The text block edges are a little spotted. The contents, with a bookplate to the front pastedown, a bookseller's label to the title page, light offsetting and spotting to the endpapers, and the occasional foxing spot, are otherwise clean and free from inscriptions or stamps. There is a tiny nick and a short closed tear to the fore-edge of pages 319 and 342, respectively. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and faded dustwrapper, that has a short closed tear to the top edge of the front panel and tears with a little loss to fold corners. Not price-clipped (15s net to the upper front flap).
A summary of three dozen Theosophical texts published from 1897 to 1926 on the higher energy bodies and planes: the causal, buddhic, and nirvanic. The ego in the title refers to our higher self.
