First edition, first printing. Domestic issue (printed by Billings and Sons). Publisher's original dark blue cloth with gilt titles and decoration to the spine, in dustwrapper. Top edge navy blue. With a red and black line-drawn map facing p. 120, and a fold-out map tipped-in to the rear. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with just a touch of rubbing to the spine tips, and a tiny white mark to the lower board. The closed text block edge is a little toned and marked. The contents, with a faint brown mark to the outer margin to p. 69, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The fold-out map is in fine condition. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper, which is faded to the red lettering on the spine. Not price-clipped (£4.95 net to the lower front flap).
