THE BRIGHT SHAWL

First UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original blue cloth, with black titles to the spine and the publisher's logo in blind to the lower board, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with some mild toning to the endpapers are otherwise clean throughout. The upper edge of the text block is dusty. Complete with the original rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has small chips at the tips of the somewhat darkened spine. Correctly priced 7/6 net to the spine.

The novel is the basis for the 1923 black and white silent film with an all-star cast directed by John S. Robertson and starring Richard Barthelmess, Dorothy Gish, William Powell, Mary Astor and Edward G. Robinson.
