In the black faux leather slipcase. Illustrated throughout with ten full page colour plates by David Palumbo. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. In the near fine original dustwrapper, which is a touch creased to the head to the spine and otherwise free from fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped ($250 to the front flap). Housed in the fine, structurally sound slipcase.

The '25th Anniversary' edition, issued in a limited edition of 500 copies. This example is numbered 444 and signed by the author Dan Simmons in black ink on the limitation page. There was also an edition of 26 lettered copies in a traycase. The first book in the 'Seasons of Horror' series, which is followed by 'The Children of the Night' (1992), 'Fires of Eden' (1994) and 'A Winter Haunting' (2002).
