HEARING SECRET HARMONIES

Pre-publication copy of the first edition, first printing. With a typed letter and and original photograph, both signed by the author. Unbound, comprising nine signatures of approximately 30 pages with front and rear blanks, forming the complete novel including all prelims, laid into the first printing dustwrapper. In very good condition without inscriptions or marks, just a little rubbing and mild toning to the edges. The dustwrapper whilst complete is nicked and creased at the edges with a little toning to the flap edges. Curious and probably quite scarce in this form.

The twelfth and final volume in the author's A Dance To The Music of Time series. The first printing was issued in an edition of 13,000 copies. Loosely laid in is a typed letter with autograph emendations from the author, dated 7 April 1975 address to a Mr. McGory, thanking him for his letter and appreciation of his, and his wife's (Lady Violet Powell) books and enclosing a signed black and white photograph of himself. Powell goes on to mention that the "final volume of the sequence, which is called Hearing Secret Harmonies', comes out of 8 September, and I hope you will like it". The letter is signed in black ink and the photograph is signed in blue. (Lilley A22a).
