With a frontispiece of Nelly Gordon Craig by Dame Laura Knight, two wood engravings by Nelly's nephew John Craig, and two small wood engraving vignettes by Edward Gordon Craig. A lovely fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean and bright throughout.

Signed by Edward Craig in sepia ink on the limitation page. Edward and Nelly were the grandchildren of the actress Ellen Terry and the pre-Raphaelite artist's model and painter Gaetano Meo, and the children of the Modernist theatre practitioner Edward Gordon Craig. This title, produced by Edward in memory of Nelly, offers a fascinating and intimate look into the last years of Gordon Craig's life, through the letters sent by Nelly, who was looking after her father in his old age, to Edward, along with Edward's annotations. It starts with a biography of the siblings, including a look into their time as children spent living with Ellen Terry.
