First edition, first printing. Limited edition. Signed by the artist. Original red cloth with a grey cloth spine lettered in gilt, with a grey paper title label lettered and bordered in gilt to the upper board. Illustrated throughout with wood engravings in burgundy by Rosemary Roberts. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the spine and the bottom edge of the upper board with a little light fading. The contents are clean and bright throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions.

Issued in a limited edition of 165 copies, this example is numbered 124 and signed by Rosemary Roberts, the illustrator, printer and publisher, in pencil on the limitation page. A passiontide story written by George Mackay Brown in 1990.
