First edition, first printing. Publisher's original pictorial pink paper covered boards with blue cloth spine, in the E. H. Shepard illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated with 22 vignettes by E. H. Shepard decorating the musical score by H. Fraser Simpson throughout. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with a little rubbing to the extremities, the boards bright and fresh. The contents, with some offsetting to the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a few small chips at the spine and fold corners and a few dustmarks to the rear panel.

Milne's famous verse from 'When We Were Very Young' (1924) is here issued separately for the first time, having been set to music by Fraser-Simon and decorated by Shepard. The book includes a previously unpublished poem 'Feed-My-Cow' and a new, amusing introduction by Milne.
