Early printing. Publisher's original white paper covered boards, with blue titles and illustration to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated with six tipped in colour plates and line drawings on every page by Margaret Tarrant. A very good copy, the binding firm with a touch of rubbing and toning to the extremities, the contents, with a previous owner's signature to the front pastedown, are otherwise clean throughout. The closed text block edge is a little spotted. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has small chips at the spine tips, a few short closed tears and a couple of small pieces of tape to the underside.
