ON THE DEATH OF LLYWELYN AP GRUFFUDD. 12th December 1282.

First edition. Text in English and Welsh. Recent craft binding of full black morocco, with a knot emblem in light grey leather decorated in gilt and white to the upper board, in a grey and black cloth traycase. Textured endpapers. Unpaginated. With a colour frontispiece of the coat of arms of the House of Aberffraw, commonly attributed to Llywelyn ap Gruffudd. 15 tissue-guards loosely laid in throughout, as issued. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the leather bright and fresh. The contents, with some creasing to the tissue-guard facing the third poem ('Lament for Llywelyn ap Gruffudd' translated by Anthony Conran) and a couple of very light spots to the fore-edge of the closed text block, are otherwise clean and without inscriptions or stamps. Housed in the lightly rubbed and marked, structurally sound traycase.

A collection of five historical poems about the death of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the last native Prince of Wales, compiled and printed by Peter Attwater.
