First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original beige cloth with black titles to the spine with a unique black and white photograph tipped on to the upper board (by the authot). A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth fresh, the head of the spine and the top corners of the boards with mild bumping. The contents are clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Scarce in this form.

One of a limited edition of 26 signed, hardbound copies. This example is lettered 'Z' and signed and inscribed in black ink by the author on the limitation page "For / Pat / Jamieson / The "2" Mule, / with an [illegible] / cover. (somewhat / the way the cover / should have been done!). / July 1978". Additionally inscribed on the photograph on the upper board. A collection of poems and a journal by the American poet Clayton Eshleman. The writing dates from a period when author lived in Peru with his pregnant wife while he attempted to procure manuscript material from the widow of the Peruvian poet César Vallejo, whose work Eshleman produced notable translations of. 700 unsigned softcover copies were also issued.
