There is some light spotting and a few marks to the closed text-block edge, the contents are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. A survey of the folklore of the Welsh borders by leading folklorist Jaqueline Simpson, including sections on battles, heroes, witches, fairies, ghosts and healing. Simpson has held various leading roles at the Folklore Society including president and editor, and has published over fifteen books on English and Icelandic folklore. In the 1990s she became a friend of (and occasional consultant to) Terry Pratchett, with whom she collaborated on 'The Folklore of Discworld' (2008), as well as a number of interviews and podcasts.
