First edition, first printing. The publisher's retained copy. Original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Frontispiece and 6 further illustrations. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the contents spotted to the text block edges and with a little light foxing to the prelims and the publisher's "File Copy" stamp to the front pastedown, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the rubbed, creased and spine-faded dustwrapper which has a publisher's "File Copy" stamp to the front panel, a few short closed tears to the extremities and a little spotting to the spine.
