First edition. Signed by the author. Publisher's original light blue cloth with gilt illustration and titles to the upper board and spine. Illustrated with line drawings throughout the text by E. H. Shepard. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little rubbing and bumping to the spine tips and corners, the gilt remains bright. The text block is a little shaken. The contents, with some offsetting and spotting to the pictorial front endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without loose or torn pages. An attractive example.
