Inscribed by the author in blue ink on the front free endpaper "A Don Gonzales / molto cordialmente / Luchino Visconti / Roma 1965". Italian stage and film director Luchino Visconti (1906 - 1976) is considered one of the founding fathers of the Italian neorealism film movement.
