Publisher's original quarter white buckram and marbled paper covered boards, with titles in gilt to the spine and illustration stamped in gilt to the lower front board. In the publisher's marbled paper slipcase. Top edge gilt. Illustrated with plates in colour and monochrome, and with line drawings throughout the text. A near fine copy, the binding square and tight, the spine just a little darkened or toned, the gilt bright. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' marks. Housed in the structurally sound slipcase that is a little toned to the sides of the open edge.

Issued in a limited edition of 50 copies, this example is numbered 12 and signed by Osbert Lancaster in black ink on the title page.
