First edition thus, first printing. Inscribed by the author. Original illustrated card wrappers. A very good copy, the binding tight and square, The wraps are lightly rubbed to surface and extremities. There are a couple of light marks to the top edge of the page block.

Inscribed in black ink to the title page, "Mark Doty/ for Pat / at the LRB / 6. 1. 06". This volume brings together Doty's first two collections, neither of which have been published in the UK (his first appearance here being "My Alexandria" in 1995, which won that year's T. S. Eliot Prize). Provenance: from the library of the multi-award winning poet Pat Borthwick.
