THE STUDENTS' QUARTER; Or, Paris Five-and-Thirty Years Since.

First edition, first issue. Publisher's original blue cloth with titles in gilt to the spine. Illustrated with five hand-coloured plates by the author. A very good copy, the binding firm with a repair to the front inner-hinge, some wrinkling to the spine, and a little wear to the extremities. The contents with a small, neat previous owner's name-label and two old booksellers descriptions to the front pastedown are otherwise in good order, the plates are clean and bright.

Thackeray's account of his time spent living in Paris during the years 1839-40, with a particular focus on student life, art and literature, wonderfully illustrated. Provenance: From the library of Martin Stone.
