Third edition. 12mo. Handsomely bound in contemporary dark green morocco, the boards with decorative borders in gilt, the spine with four raised bands, compartments decorated in gilt and with titles in gilt. All edges gilt. Pale yellow endpapers. Ownership inscription of the author William St Clair in pencil to the front pastedown. A very good copy indeed, the binding square and firm with minor rubbing to the joints and extremities. The contents with an previous owner's ink inscription dated 1875 to the front free endpaper and some foxing to the rear endpapers are otherwise clean and bright throughout. A splendid copy.

An early collection of Shelley's poetical works, issued seven years prior to the first official collected edition edited by Mary Shelley, in an attractive contemporary binding. Provenance: from the library of William St Clair (1937-2021).
