PRETTY POLLY BARLOW And Other Stories.

First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the author. Original navy cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents, faintly toned to the margins, are clean throughout. Complete with the very good rubbed and creased dustwrapper that has a few short closed tears to the edges and a chip at the foot of the spine of the lightly toned spine. Inscribed by Noel Coward on the front free endpaper "For Dear Little Jerry of Golder's Green / With usual love / from / le Maitre". The recipient is the actor Jerry Desmonde, who toured the United States in the 1920s as part of Coward's revue 'This Year of Grace'. Coward's nickname had been 'The Master' since the 1920s, and here he gives it a French twist. A collection of three short stories.
