Inscribed by Noel Coward on the front free endpaper "For Dear Little Jerry of Golder's Green / With usual love / from / le Maitre". The recipient is the actor Jerry Desmonde, who toured the United States in the 1920s as part of Coward's revue 'This Year of Grace'. Coward's nickname had been 'The Master' since the 1920s, and here he gives it a French twist. A collection of three short stories.
