ON A TORN-AWAY WORLD

Early edition. Publisher's original yellow cloth with red and black titles and illustrations to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, with some bumping to the spine tips and some light foxing to the upper edges, the lettering and illustration bright and fresh. The contents, with a small bookseller's label to the rear pastedown, are otherwise clean throughout without stamps or inscriptions. Six page publisher's catalogue to the rear. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper, that has several short closed tears at the edges and minor loss to the upper spine tip. With some toning to the inside and light foxing to the exterior of the rear panel.

Written by the 'Stratemeyer Syndicate' under the house pseudonym of Roy Rockwood. Pages 247-252 have ads (including one for The City Beyond the Clouds, leading one to suggest that this is an edition of about 1925). First editions of these juveniles are very difficult to identify. (Bleiler; Locke; A Spectrum of Fantasy).
