DOCTORS WEAR SCARLET

First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding lightly rubbed and bumped at the extremities, the contents without previous owner's marks, the text block edges a little toned as always with this title. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is a touch faded to the spine. Not price-clipped (16/- to the lower front flap).

Signed by Simon Raven in blue ink on the front free endpaper. Considered a neglected classic of English horror / vampire fiction and the basis for the 1971 Robert Hartford-Davis directed (and disowned) film "Incense for the Damned" starring Patrick Macnee, Peter Cushing and Edward Woodward. In the US the title was changed to "Bloodsuckers".
