First edition thus, first printing. Signed by the artist. Original light blue cloth with a dark blue cloth spine lettered in gilt, with a gilt snowflake motif to the upper board. Illustrated with three lino-cuts in two colours by Rosemary Roberts. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the upper board and spine with a little faint fading. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps.

Issued in a limited edition of 125 copies, this example is numbered 72 and signed in pencil by Rosemary Roberts, the illustrator, publisher and printer, on the limitation page. Three short Christmas stories by George Mackay Brown, published in book form here for the first time.
