First American edition, first printing. Publisher's original dark brown cloth with black titles to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. An excellent better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth fresh. The contents, with minor spotting to the endpapers and some dustiness to the closed text block edge, are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' marks. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is somewhat darkened to the spine and rear panel, with a single tape repair to the underside at the head of the spine.
