A HUNDRED YEARS A-MILLING

First edition, first printing. Original grey cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board, in the Gray Ellis illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout with black and white drawings, paintings, and photographs. With four fold-out maps and one fold-out family tree. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, slight bumping to the board corners, a little light spotting to the top edge of the text block, and fading to the spine. The contents are clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. All of the fold out components are in fine condition. Complete with the rubbed and creased original illustrated dustwrapper which has staining to the spine, short closed tears and some chipping to the edges, a few small holes to the folds, and has been repaired with tape to the reverse. Not price clipped (10/6 to the front flap). Uncommon in the dustwrapper.

A collection of essays, prose, and verse that come together to tell the story of a century in an Irish oat milling town. Including a section on historic and contemporary oat recipes.
