With a colour illustration plate by Thomas Howard. An excellent fine copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean and bright throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. The slipcase is also in fine condition.

Issued in a limited edition of 160 copies, this example is numbered 111 and signed by Salman Rushdie in black ink on the title page. A special edition of the first chapter of Rushdie's Booker Prize-winning novel 'Midnight's Children', issued by the Oak Tree Press, a private press that donates its profits to organisations assisting children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, as the tenth volume in their 'First Chapters' series.
