With 14 black and white line-drawn illustrations by Chris Riddell throughout. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very slightly creased dustwrapper, that remains without fading loss or tears. Housed in the lightly rubbed and bumped slipcase, that has a small crease to the upper left side.

Issued in an edition of 2,250 copies, from which this example is numbered 1737, and signed by the author Neil Gaiman and the illustrator Chris Riddell in green and black ink, respectively, on the limitation page. Gaiman's acclaimed children's dark fantasy novel won a Hugo Award for Best Novella, a Nebula Award for Best Novel, and a Bram Stoker Award for Best Work for Young Readers. It was adapted into an animated film of the same name in 2009.
