First UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original purple cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated endpapers and ten further illustrations by the author. A very good copy, the binding firm, the spine a little rolled. The cloth is bright and fresh with a thin strip of fading to the upper edge. The contents, with a small tear to the lower edge of the contents page, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has two short closed tears to the lower edge of the lightly toned spine. Not price-clipped (15s net to the front flap).
