First edition in book form, first printing. Limited edition. Signed by the author. Publisher's original white cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Dez Skinn designed dustwrapper. With an illustrated title page and 24 black and white illustrations by Robert Rankin throughout, and a publisher's advertisement to the rear. A publisher's commemorative postcard is loosely laid in. An excellent very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with a light bump to the bottom edge of the rear board, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the fine original dustwrapper that has a tiny mark to the front flap, and is otherwise without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped (£19.95 to the lower front flap).
Issued in an edition of 1000 copies, from which this example is numbered 198, and signed by Robert Rankin in black ink on the limitation page. First released in 2015 as an e-book for Amazon Kindle, this is the first edition in physical book form, published by the author's own publishing company, named for his self-invented literary genre 'Far-fetched Fiction'. In typical Rankin style, the book's title parodies a classic work of fantasy or science fiction, here spoofing the 1957 Val Guest-directed fantasy-horror film 'The Abominable Snowman', starring Forrest Tucker and Peter Cushing. A comedic space-adventure novel starring one of Rankin's most recognisable characters, Barry 'The Time Sprout'.
