FROM A TO B AND BACK AGAIN The Philosophy of Andy Warhol. Stock code: 12309

Author / Artist:

Warhol, Andy

Description:

First UK edition. Original green cloth with black titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. An outstanding presentation copy from Warhol to his literary agent (who's idea the book was) and with 20 original soup can drawings throughout. A superb fine clean, square and tight copy in the fine original dustwrapper. "The Philosophy" was ghost-written by Warhol's frequent collaborator, Pat Hackett and the magazine editor Bob Colacello. The book was actually the idea of Warhol's literary agent Roz Cole (the details of which are remembered in Bob Colacello's 1990 memoir "Holy Terror: Andy Warhol Close Up") with much of the material drawn from taped interviews made especially for this project.

Price:

£17,500.00

Notes:

The ultimate copy thus inscribed around a large souper douper soup can drawing "To Roz Honey / with all my love / Andy Warhol / Lon. Nov 1975" and overleaf [another soup can drawing] "who made this all possible - aw". With original soup can drawings throughout the book, many "Love Soup" inscribed to Roz, ending with a full page "Campbells London Soup" to the rear endpaper all of which are signed or initialled.
